2018 PIMS: Volkswagen Philippines Shows Off Santana AT, Santana GTS, And Lamando

The automatic Santanas, as well as the Santana GTS and Lamando, are the final puzzle to Volkswagen's refreshed line-up.

Volkswagen Philippines has announced the availability of the automatic variants of the Santana last September, and now, these new Santana variants are making their first public debut at the 2018 Philippine International Motor Show, alongside the new Lamando and the Santana GTS.

The automatic variants of the Santana starts at P898,000 for the Trendline and P998,000 for the Comfortline (as shown), which represents the mid and top tier variants of the Santana line-up, respectively. Both cars are powered by a 1.5-liter inline-4 MPI petrol engine producing 110 hp and 150 Nm of torque. Power is sent through a 6-speed automatic transmission. If you are interested in owning an automatic variant of the Santana right now, do note that a special offer is available for the Comfortline variant. An additional special price of only P70,000 adds a new set of alloy wheels, as well as a Blaupunkt touch screen infotainment system, making the Santana Comfortline an even more attractive proposition. This offer is only available during the 2018 Philippine International Motor Show.

The Volkswagen Santana GTS wagon utilizes the same engine and transmission from the Santana sedan, but with the added benefit and practicality of a wagon body style. As an added bonus, the Santana GTS gets the benefit of features that include electronic stability program, sunroof, cruise control, and rear parking sensors. The entry point for owning this practical wagon is at P998,000 for the sole Comfortline variant. Like the Santana Comfortline, a special accessories kit for P70,000 is on offer only during the 2018 Philippine International Motor Show, which includes a new set of alloy wheels, as well as a Blaupunkt touch screen infotainment system.

Lastly, the Lamando executive sedan is also on display at Volkswagen’s booth. With a price of P1,569,000 for the Comfortline variant and P1,703,000 for the Highline variant (as shown), the Volkswagen Lamando is priced within the more affordable pricing range of the executive sedan segment. Both variants have a 280 TSI designation. As such, it is powered by a 1.4-liter TSI turbocharged petrol engine producing 150 hp and a strong 250 Nm of torque. Power is sent through a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission. Being on the higher end of the Volkswagen line-up, the Lamando is equipped with features that include automatic LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, passive entry with push button start, while the Highline features a bigger 9.2-inch touch screen infotainment system, Adaptive Cruise Control, 12.3-inch Active Info Display, just to name a few.
