2022 Toyota Avanza Veloz GR Sport Debuts With Sportier Looks

The Toyota Avanza Veloz has just been given the GR Sport treatment. Do you wish for Toyota Motor Philippines to offer this in our market?

Yes, what you’re seeing here is the Toyota Avanza Veloz GR Sport. Unfortunately, it does not get any performance upgrades, if ever you’re wondering on that aspect. This move is in line with Toyota’s move to transitioning from TRD (Toyota Racing Development) as its accessories and tuning brand to Gazoo Racing for the entire lineup.

Toyota Avanza Veloz GR Sport

The Toyota Avanza Veloz GR Sport sets itself apart from other Avanza variants with its sportier front and rear bumpers, side skirts, and of course the obligatory GR badging across the exterior of the MPV. The 15-inch alloy wheels have also been painted in black to complete its sportier look.

Inside, this sportier Avanza remains unchanged from the standard model, which means it still has a touch screen infotainment system, push-button start (but not smart entry), fabric seats with red highlights, and digital (but manual) aircon controls.

In the Philippines, the Avanza Veloz is powered by a 1.5-liter inline-4 gasoline engine that produces 104 hp and 136 Nm of torque. All that power is sent to the rear wheels via a 4-speed automatic.

We are not sure if the Toyota Avanza Veloz GR Sport will make its way into the Philippines, but we do know that this car’s Indonesian launch, along with other GR Sport models, coincided with the 50th anniversary of Toyota Indonesia (Toyota Astra Motor).

Do you wish for Toyota Motor Philippines to offer this gussied up Avanza Veloz in our market?
